Celebrate the start of the summer at one of Newcastle’s favorite traditions! Join us for Fireworks on the Lake on Thursday, July 3 at Lake Boren Park for an evening filled with fun, food, music, and a spectacular fireworks finale over the lake.

 

Event Schedule

6:00 p.m. Park opens with food vendors, family activities, and community booths

8:00 p.m. Enjoy live music on stage by Mara & The Charm

10:00 p.m. Stay for the grand finale fireworks show over Lake Boren

Activities & Booths
There’s something for everyone! Stop by the City of Newcastle and Newcastle Police Department booths. Learn how to protect local waterways with Adopt-a-Drain. Meet Liberty High’s Iron Patriots Robotics Team and thank Platinum Summer Sponsors Sona Aesthetics and Waste Management. Don’t forget to visit the Scouts booth to enter the Push the Plunger raffle. One lucky winner will get to start the fireworks show!

Food Vendors
Come hungry! Enjoy dinner, snacks, and treats from a variety of local favorites including:

-Summer Sponsors DIY Tea Lab and Jersey Mike’s

-Newcastle Arts Council Snack Shack

-Chick’n Fix, Cascadia Pizza, Fresh Offerings Ice Cream, Just Fries, Puffle Up, Tacos Penachos, and Tastyz

Live Music
Seattle-based band Mara & The Charm brings their vibrant retro-soul and pop sound to the stage at 8:00 p.m. Get ready to dance, sing along, and enjoy the energy!

Parking & Park Info
-The main Lake Boren Park lot is ADA parking only with a drop-off area.

-Follow signs to the event parking area behind the park along the Waterline Trail. It is one-way only and exits onto 129th Ave SE.

-Both lots open at 5:30 p.m. and fill quickly. Plan ahead by arriving early when the event opens at 6:00 p.m. Stake out your spot, grab dinner, and enjoy the park ahead before the concert starts.

🚫 If parking in neighborhoods, DO NOT block driveways or fire hydrants. You will be towed. Consider carpooling, walking from downtown, or taking King County Metro Route #240.

-The park will remain open for normal use, but lake access will be restricted, and the fishing dock and boardwalk will be closed due to fireworks setup.

🚫 No barbecues or grills are allowed at this event.

-If a staff member asks you to move or adjust your activity, please don’t give them a hard time. Our team is working under a tight timeline to set up a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. Your cooperation means a smoother evening for all!
