Newcastle City Council is inviting residents and community members to apply for seats on two newly forming advisory committees. These are opportunities to directly influence the city's financial future and the direction of its downtown.
Members of both committees will be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by City Council.
Fiscal Sustainability Task Force
City Council is forming a Fiscal Sustainability Task Force to evaluate the city's long-term financial outlook and develop recommendations for City Council on revenues, expenditures, and service levels. The city is casting a wide net for applicants, welcoming residents of all backgrounds, particularly those with experience in finance or business, as well as local business owners. All viewpoints are encouraged, and no specialized expertise is required to apply.
