How to Participate in the April 27 Planning Commission Public Hearings

City of Newcastle LogoPUBLIC HEARINGS on COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT SCHEDULE ORDINANCE and MOBILE FOOD VENDING ORDINANCE APRIL 27, 2022

The Newcastle Planning Commission will hold two public hearings on the following subjects: (1) A proposed ordinance to amend the comprehensive plan amendment schedule as shown in Newcastle Municipal Code (NMC) Title 19, proposing to align the schedule with that provided in the comprehensive plan itself; correct conflicting deadlines in the code; and provide the Planning Commission and City Council more time to consider plan amendments; and (2) A proposed ordinance to modify Chapter 18.23 NMC relating to mobile food vending, proposing to make the interim regulations permanent; to remove the need to submit mobile food permits for activities in residential neighborhoods; and to allow churches and schools more than one food truck at planned events.

The hearings will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, and the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. All interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard concerning the topics listed.
