Winter Storm Resources
Posted on 12/22/2022
snow plowFreezing rain is in the forecast for tonight, Thursday December 22, and into tomorrow morning. The best thing you can do is STAY OFF THE ROADS!
Our crews will do the best that they can; however, they are limited when it comes to freezing rain. It's expected that all roads will be a sheet of ice tomorrow morning, an extremely hazardous situation. Driving poses a significant risk to life and safety. We urge everyone to stay of the roads tomorrow morning unless absolutely necessary.

Check the National Weather Service for the latest forecasts.

Our maintenance team is now working 'round the clock to treat roads according to our snow and ice priority map. Please see our Winter Storm Response FAQs for answers to common questions.

Watch for service alerts from Waste Management on their Newcastle web page. This site will be updated by 9 a.m. if there are any service impacts.

King County Emergency Management has provided a list of winter weather resources for this storm with information on items like transit, warming shelters, cold weather preparedness, and more.

 Please stay safe and warm.
