A message from the Newcastle Historical Society

Join members of the Newcastle Historical Society in helping to clean up and aid in the restoration of the Newcastle Pioneer Cemetery. For years, Mother Nature has been reclaiming space within the confines of the cemetery boundary that lies beyond where most of the gravesites are located. It is believed that the periphery of the cemetery was where Chinese immigrant miners and mine workers of color were interred. The intent of the historical group is to restore the entire site to its intended beauty.
