Councilmember Chris Villaseñor

Chris Villaseñor is proud to be a citizen of Newcastle. Prior to being appointed to the City Council in 2021, he spent two years on the Newcastle Planning Commission as a volunteer planning commissioner. Professionally, he helps organizations address problems and manage change by recognizing that solutions can be found through many different approaches. Likewise, his preferred approach to city governance centers on the shared values of residents, which include the desire to make Newcastle the best place to live and to deepen our small-town roots.

Chris feels that giving is the heart of community. While his career has been spent in the technology industry, he’s found real joy in the act of volunteering. For the past decade, he’s worked with The First Tee of Greater Seattle, where he was 2020 Volunteer of the year, and he’s currently on the advisory board of Tombolo Institute of Design Thinking at Bellevue College.
