Concerts in the Park
Wednesdays, July 19-August 9, 7-8:30 pm

Get your groove on at the four-week concert series at Lake Boren Park!

July 19: White
- Alan White, legendary drummer from "Yes" and 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, along with friends entertains with Progressive Rock and soulful vocals.

July 26: Shaggy Sweet
 - This fun band specializes in pop/rock and delivers great energy with popular covers and original compositions.

August 2: Aaron Crawford- Enjoy an evening of pop/country music from Seattle's own Aaron Crawford. His music embraces the Northwest while sharing influences from church music to Johnny Cash to U2.  

August 9: The Kings of Hollywood- Come hear an amazing tribute band to The Eagles! The Kings of Hollywood recreate Eagles hits through the decades capturing their awesome vocal harmonies.

Moonlight Movie Night (dependent on funding)
Enjoy a movie in the moonlight at Lake Boren Park. A family-friendly movie to be announced will be on the big screen! This event is dependent upon funding. If you are interested in making this event possible by becoming a sponsor, please contact Wendy Kirchner, Community Activities Coordinator.

National Night Out Against Crime
Tuesday, August 1

Gather your neighbors and plan a fun time together to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime! This annual community building campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neigbhborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, and more caring places to live. To register your neighborhood for a National Night Out Event and police visit, please contact Newcastle Police Officer Devon Edwards.

Fit Family Fun Run
Saturday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lake Boren Park

Bring your kids to this FREE fun run/walk/activity for families to create awareness for childhood obesity. Route consists of an approximately 1-1.5 mile walk/run beginning and ending at Lake Boren Park with activity/information stations along the way.

Organized by Newcastle Youth for Community Engagement (NYCE), City of Newcastle, Newcastle Library and Coal Creek Family YMCA.

Newcastle Days
September 8-9

“Newcastle’s Got Talent” premiers Friday night with a variety of acts by locals! Kick off Saturday’s full day of fun with the Parade in the Park” then enjoy the car show, musical and dance performances, children’s activities, beer garden, food vendors, local vendors, and more!

Historic Newcastle Cemetery Tours
Join the community for a special tour of this historic site  during Newcastle Days. Founded in 1880, this 2.2-acre picturesque cemetery near Lake Boren is the final resting place of many of the area’s coal miners and pioneer families. The gates are closed to preserve the site but open on special occasions.
