Ballot Drop Box Opens on Oct. 18, 2018
Posted on 10/10/2018

King County Elections will mail the ballots for the Nov. 6 election on Oct. 17. Voters can learn about the candidates and measures on the ballot right now on the King County Elections website here.

This year, citizens can return their ballot through the mail without a stamp. In May 2018, the King County Council approved the budget request for prepaid postage. By eliminating the need for a stamp, it removes a barrier for voters, encourages higher ballot return rates and allows all communities to become further engaged in the elections process.

Citizens can still choose to return their ballots at the Newcastle City Hall drop box. The drop box will be open 24 hours a day beginning on Oct. 18, before closing at 8 p.m. on Election Day. If you choose to return your ballot by mail, just make sure it's postmarked by Election Day. King County also offers accessible voting centers where voters who need assistance completing their ballot can get help.
