To protect the health and safety of our residents, volunteer Commissioners and staff, the May 13 Community Activities Commission meeting will be held via video conference. It starts at 7 p.m on Wednesday. You can view the agenda packet here. Members of the public will still have a chance to listen, watch and participate.

During the meeting, Commissioners will discuss how the COVID-19 outbreak has impacted summer events. With the cancellation of Fourth of July and Concerts in the Park, the City is exploring alternative, social-distancing friendly activities we can offer in their absence. If you have any feedback on how we can safely promote community togetherness, without coming together this summer, we'd love to hear your thoughts! Please email your ideas to [email protected] and we'll share them with the Commission.

The Newcastle Community Activities Commission is comprised of seven community members who volunteer their time and expertise to serve as a review and advisory body to the City Council on City-owned parks, community engagement, volunteerism and special community events.
